BRICS Seminar on Governance (Johannesburg)

The BRICS Seminar on Governance 2018 will be held in early July, 2018 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The seminar is hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, The South African National School of Government, South African Human Sciences Research Council, and China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration. The seminar will be a one-day event, including the opening ceremony and three parallel sessions. The theme of the seminar is “Contributing BRICS’ Wisdom to Global Governance in the Interests of the people”.

The first BRICS Seminar on Governance 2017 was held from August 17 to 18, 2017 in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China. More than 160 dignitaries, scholars, senior executives from BRICS countries and other developing countries attended the seminar. The participants of the seminar unanimously agreed that as representatives of emerging markets and developing countries, BRICS countries had obtained valuable experience in state governance, and were exerting a greater influence on global governance. Therefore it would be necessary to hold this BRICS Seminar on Governance to share experiences in this regard.
