Pre-announcement of the 3rd Competition on Promoting BRICS Industrial Innovation Cooperation
In order to promote the work of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution forward and enhance the practical cooperation in the industry sector among BRICS countries, the Competition on Promoting BRICS Industrial Innovation Cooperation will be held in 2022 for the third consecutive year.
I. General introduction
The competition will focus on fields such as the digital transformation of manufacturing, green industrial development, new materials, new energy, life science, digital creativity, and marine high-tech. Projects in the categories of creativity, technology, products and applications are highly welcomed, so as to encourage more innovative ideas from the talents and build a platform for scientific and technological progress as well as the economic growth.
II. Organization
The competition will be co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Fujian Provincial People's Government and Xiamen Municipal People's Government. It will be organized by the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.As the office of BRICS PartNIR Chinese Secretariat, CIETC-MIIT functions as the organizer of this competition and the secretariat of the organizing committee.
III. Competition Arrangements
The competition will be held both online and offline. In March 2022, a press conference will be held to introduce the background, significance, schedule, and preparations of the competition. Preliminary competition including regional, thematic and proposition competitions will be held simultaneously from March to May 2022.. At the end of May, the final competition will be held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. In addition, there will be activities such as training courses, networking sessions and seminars prior to the competition, and project alignment session after the competition.
IV. Awards
The competition will set the first, second and third prizes with awarding bonuses and certificates.
VI. The way forward
BRICS and BRICS+ countries participants who want to submit your project for the competition, please fill in Annex 4 and inform the Secretariat before February 28th.
