BRICS Project Lab (Moscow)
On 6-8 April 2022, BRICS Project Lab will be held at Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
The laboratory will be hosted in a hybrid format using both Russian and English languages. The organizers of the event - MGIMO Department of World Politics as well as the African, Ibero-American, Indo-Iranian, and Chinese Clubs of the Science Student Society at MGIMO - invite students and graduates of BRICS universities aged between 18 and 35 to participate in the event. Each participant will represent a chosen BRICS member country and promote the agenda of one of the development areas.
There are five tracks in total: 'Science, Technology and Innovation', 'Education', 'Economy', 'Healthcare' and 'Information Technology'. Within each track, a group of 5-10 people will be formed, with participants from different BRICS member countries. The tracks are supervised by experts - theorists and practitioners, specialists in humanitarian diplomacy, developing countries and BRICS itself. Experts will also participate in a roundtable discussion on "BRICS Countries in an Era of Change" and address the participants in a Ted Talk format. During the event, participants and experts will communicate with the Russian government officials and academics, as well as enjoy a fascinating cultural programme. At the end of the event, the participants of each track will present a project to the experts.
"Our Lab will be the first platform in Russia to develop projects on behalf of young people in order to promote the agenda of the fast-growing BRICS countries. These projects are extremely relevant because the initiative essentially comes from below: from those representatives of the five countries who are interested in enhancing cooperation. Moreover, the projects are not moved to the back burner, but are submitted directly to various relevant agencies," adds Polina Kulakova, Head of External Affairs at the Laboratory.
BRICS Project Lab is a unique forum for promoting international solidarity and understanding of the problems of other countries, because the participants will not be representing the country of which they are citizens. The event will contribute to the establishment of long-term contacts between young people from the five countries. The best projects are sent to the Russian partner agencies of the event: Gorchakov Foundation, Rossotrudnichestvo, Rosmolodezh, Russia-BRICS Youth Project Office and National Committee on BRICS Research.
Participants of the Lab will receive acknowledgements from MGIMO and other highly valuable prizes. Applications for the event are accepted until 15 March via the Google Form. 6-8 апреля 2022 года в МГИМО МИД России состоится Международный молодежный форум Лаборатория молодежных проектов.
Лаборатория будет проходить в гибридном формате на русском и английском языках. Организаторы мероприятия - Кафедра мировых политических процессов МГИМО, а также Африканский, Ибероамериканский, Индоиранский, Китайский клубы Научного студенческого общества в МГИМО - приглашают к участию студентов и выпускников вузов БРИКС в возрасте от 18 до 35 лет. Каждый участник выступает за выбранную страну-члена БРИКС и продвигает повестку одного из направлений развития.
Всего в Лаборатории пять треков: «Наука, технологии, инновации», «Образование», «Экономика», «Здравоохранение» и «Информационные технологии». В рамках каждого трека будет сформирована группа из 5-10 человек, в которую войдут участники из разных стран-членов БРИКС. Направления курируются экспертами-теоретиками и практиками, специалистами по гуманитарной дипломатии, развивающимся странам и непосредственно объединению БРИКС. Эксперты также примут участие в круглом столе, посвященном теме «Страны БРИКС в эпоху перемен» и выступят перед участниками в формате Ted Talks. В ходе мероприятия участников и экспертов ждут выступления представителей российских государственных органов и ученых и увлекательная культурная программа. По итогам мероприятия участники каждого трека выступят с проектом и защитят его перед экспертами.
«Наша Лаборатория будет первой в России платформой по выработке проектов от лица молодежи с целью продвижения повестки быстроразвивающихся стран БРИКС. Такие проекты крайне актуальны ввиду того, что инициатива исходит по сути «снизу»: от заинтересованных в усилении сотрудничества представителей «пятерки». При этом проекты идут не в стол, а напрямую разным профильным ведомствам», - дополняет Глава отдела внешних связей Лаборатории Полина Кулакова.
Лаборатория молодежных проектов БРИКС – это уникальный форум для продвижения международной солидарности и понимания проблем других стран, ведь участники не представляют страну, гражданином которой они являются. Проведение мероприятия поспособствует установлению долгосрочных контактов между молодежью стран «пятерки». Лучшие проекты отправляются в российские профильные ведомства-партнеры мероприятия: Фонд Горчакова, Россотрудничество, Росмолодежь, Проектный молодежный офис «Россия-БРИКС» и НКИ БРИКС.
Участники Лаборатории получат благодарность от МГИМО и другие крайне ценные призы.
