Questionnaire on BRICS Research

2017-03-31 / События

The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) BRICS Research Centre (BRC) in partnership with the National Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS), the hosts of the South African BRICS Think Tank (SABTT), are jointly conducting this survey as a tool to identify, both in South Africa and internationally, BRICS related research projects, themes and reports that are undertaken by research institutions.  Often, a key challenge affecting research organisations is how best we coordinate collective research efforts. This tool provides fellow researchers an opportunity to share and exchange BRICS related research and to identify research institutions with common interests.

We invite you to complete this survey here: http://www.bricsresearch.org.za/interface.php?p=crumb&type=561

In order to facilitate data sharing and research cooperation, all data collected is freely accessible via the below mentioned link:

Please note that the research themes of interest include those identified in the Five Pillars of the BRICS Long Strategy endorsed by the BRICS Heads of State Summit in July 2014. The document entitled “Towards a Long Term Strategy for BRICS” can be downloaded here: http://www.bricsresearch.org.za/dynamic/uploads/documents/5.1.1.%20BRICS%20Long%20Term%20Strategy%20-%20final.pdf

The pillars are:

  1. Promoting cooperation for economic growth,
  2. Peace and Security,
  3. Social Justice, Sustainable Development and Quality of Life,
  4. Political and Economic Governance and
  5. Progress through knowledge and innovation sharing

In addition, the pillars have been linked to themes that stem from the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 and Africa’s Agenda 2063.
